General Information

Since its founding in 1940, the mission of The Saint Paul Foundation has remained constant through a period of rapid change. Our mission is to serve people of the greater Saint Paul area by building charitable capital, making philanthropic grants and providing other services that contribute to the health and vitality of the community.

While the Foundation's purpose has not changed, our strategies have changed over time to reflect the social, economic and political circumstances and needs of the community. We play a unique role in convening community discussion around emerging issues of concern, participating in partnerships that address related needs.

Each year, we help hundreds of donors-individuals, organizations and businesses-truly make a difference with their charitable dollars.

In partnership with individuals, families, businesses and organizations, we're making our community a better place to live and work. We match donor interests to local community needs. And our unrestricted funds add flexibility for the Foundation to respond to the emerging needs of the greater Saint Paul area.

Through grants, programs and services, the Foundation is helping nonprofit organizations address critical challenges in the East Metro area.

We offer leadership, financial strength and administrative support to support your charitable goals. Whether you want to set up a donor advised fund, an endowment fund or a scholarship fund, we have the experience and knowledge you need. We can guide you through each step of charitable giving.
